...sadly the guy who composed it never got to reap the rewards of his Blockbuster creation which Elvis & many other recording stars benefited from.

The vocals make that song what it is....

Elvis is The King.
I was never a fan of his Lex @The Prowler

...even tho I was old enough to remember him while he was still in his physical and musical prime.

This is the only song of his I liked Prowler:

By the standatd of ANY musical era I think its his best song & performance.

The most timeless and it still hasnt dated too much even today.

I'd say it ranks up there as one of the greatest rock n roll songs of all time along with this one:

...now if you could play the guitar solo from Rock around the clock I wouldcreally be impressed (:40-:55 of the video)

I remember where I was when I heard Elvis had croaked on the toilet. I was up in my room in our old farmhouse tuning around to radio stations on an antique AM radio when I caught a newscast about Elvis being dead.

Elvis stoled all his music from black people in the south, songs he’d heard from his youth sung from the porches of the shacks he grew up around

There were a lot of performers similar to Elvis.

But nobody was as good.
There may have been better musicians/guitarists who were technically superior to Elvis Lex @The Prowler

However, it was his showmanship and stage presence which made him 'The King'.

And people can argue about who was the better musician, but Elvis was the most revolutionary Rock 'n Roll performer of hhis time.

Elvis was akin to his era how the Beatles were to the 1960s,

Both were the most revolutionary figures of popular music.

Arguing who was better or more influential is akin to comparing Bobby Orr to Wayne Gretzky.

Both Great performers who revolutionized 'the Game'.

Likewise, Elvis ad the Beatles are in that category of popular music too.
