From the news reports, the controllers were aware of the potential conflict, warned the aircraft and confirmed the helicopter had the airplane in sight. They did their job.

Your advice is that no one should go on a vacation that involves airline travel because it isn't safe.
Do you get in your car and drive places that you don't have to go? If so, why? There are car accidents all the time. It clearly isn't safe to drive yet you choose to do so anyway while warning others not to do the same.

Do you really know anyone on these boards if you haven't met or even spoken to them offline?
I've always considered myself to be a good judge of character, but I've misjudged a few posters based on words they've typed on their keyboard. More often than not, someone that initially seems to be promising turns out to be a disappointment, case in point being @Flynn who in the end is nothing more than a miserable individual who is sore at being fired as moderator and has resorted to begging in what is likely to be a failed attempt at a second chance after screwing it up the first time.
And re: Flynn we totally agree. She's a complete fraud, and part of it is the account is shared still, so you never really know who's behind it.
But I trust the vibe I get from many posters here. I will admit when we were first re-acquainted (I remembered you from your brief stint at TK) I did not respect your opinion very much. Still had the coattails of when you posted at TK.
But I give you a read and an ear these days and you have a lot to say. I don't agree with a lot of your opinions as we have different backgrounds and positions on issues and politics. All that means is I gain a different insight and perspective when posting in discussion with you.

Too bad there isn't more quality content on this board. It's got an active user base, and I suspect that there are several posters who have more to offer and can engage in quality discussion but they don't go there because they believe their efforts will be wasted.
But every so often there's a thread that isn't about semen. So there's some hope.

That's my hope for the board as well...there's still an element of the "alphas" who gang up and flood the forum with their shitposting. BF needs to strap one on and do something about it, but his emotions and relationships with the offenders and his basic flip floppiness get in the way. Still, it is his board. He pays the bills he calls the shots.
But I want the same thing. I'd happily take over the bill paying and ownership to help clean house.

As I understand it, no one in particular, the helicopters are given a lot of freedom to operate in that airspace but must monitor and stay clear of opposing traffic. They are in constant communication with civilian ATC who did warn the chopper about the airliner, was directed to pass behind it, and received confirmation from the copter that they were aware of it.
