Trump supporters simply do not care about any corrupt dealings Trump and his family take part in. He's willing to make a dog and pony show out of deporting people Trump supporters dislike so everything is excusable.

He knew that from the very start and that was the strategy from the moment he announced his candidacy.

Deport the undesirables and then you have infinite political support from the bottom of the barrel along with free reign to give yourself tax breaks and use the influence of your office to enrich your family.
