Possibly it's to prop up the US dollar & revive the old petrodollar arrangement the US had with Saudi Arabia.
As many nations are dumping the dollar this has the Trump administration worried. So he's seeking others who will continue to buy US Treasuries/debt.
Trump is turning off America's traditional allies so he's turning to those who will back his agenda- which are the more autocratic countries.

Donny found out people were laughing at him saying he's NuttyYahoo's bitch; then learning that Waltz had been making side deals directly with NuttyYahoo was the final straw. Don's self-esteem is far too fragile to tolerate not being the one-and-only top dawg. This administration is 100% The Trump Show and literally anything that detracts from elevating the Trump brand isn't going to be around long.
NuttyYahoo poked Don in the one place he feels stuff... in his ego. Don will now shit on NuttyYahoo until he feels he's gotten a sufficient amount of retribution and reestablished himself as being in the undisputed lead position of that relationship. Once the tantrum's over I expect he'll throw NuttyYahoo a bone, no doubt to the detriment of the Palestinians, to show there's (allegedly) no hard feelings.
The interesting part is how other nations/interests will, if they can, make their own moves to take advantage of the temporary rift between Genocide Don and NuttyYahoo. The Saudis are already putting some pressure on Israel to dump NuttyYahoo and of the regional players they're holding the best cards to influence the Israelis. The fact that until now the Saudis have been at least publicly quiet about the situation in Gaza and NuttyYahoo's leadership specifically gives extra weight to their change in stance.
Things are moving but if they're actually going to put down roots someplace other than right back where they started is yet to be seen.
