Of course. And the cheap stuff they make these days has a design flaw in many models of faucets, in which the screw that holds the knob in place gets loose and eventually you strip the rod and mess up the whole thing inside, including the washer, sometimes you have to change the whole faucet.

I just use a drop of super glue to hold the screw in place and I never have a problem with my faucets
