He does remind of a "Special needs" adult we had working at the Dealership, his whole face would light up with pride at the slightest compliment or "atta boy"

There is nothing wrong with being ignorant; that can be fixed. The problem is that he has no interest in fixing his problem. When I don't know what something is, I try to figure it out.
