I'm really digging this channel. A lot of this stuff is very much what is taught in recovery.....so yeah it took me a lot of pain, struggle and hellish drug withdrawal to get me to just SIT and truly be in the present. The present is only thing that truly exists and it never ends.

And to dig into who I am, verses my ego and who I think I am according to others. These are the most powerful and liberating things I learned and learned the hard way. Getting beyond the ego and existing authentically is truly a "one day at time" endeavor. It requires more "unlearning" than learning. The more you come to understand it, the more secure you become. And it gets much easier to know yourself, and know that the opinions of others on who you are, is always going to be a reflection of themselves.....and not only are you NOT defined by that, but it really isnt even about you. It's about the person who is telling you how they define you. Even the positive things.

You can really learn a lot about yourself by consciously examining how you perceive the world around you and how you think of others.

I'm not talking about a completely subjective reality, there are objective truths and natural law.

This isnt totally a political topic, obvious. But it involves politics in the way where we form our beliefs and how we perceive the world and humanity. Our beliefs and culture and stances are all a result of that perception.

Do you know why you believe what you believe? Have you dug deep and looked at how your perception of yourself and others has influenced your beliefs? How you view humanity and success and struggle? How much of your opinions and beliefs built upon your ego? How much of judgements are echos and images of your own fears and insecurities?

What drives you to believe what you believe? And how do you stay centered and what are you centered on?

And when you see criticisms of traps we all fall into, are looking at how it applies to other people or do you first apply it to yourself? Are you one of those "that totally applies to these other guys, but not us....we are enlightened and intelligent" types? How aware of yourself and your biases why you have them are you?

I once read a book about two types of persons,.... there are TASK orientated people AND PEOPLE orientated people. I'm the task orientated.

I seriously couldn't give a shit what goes on in other people's head. I am interested in their gifts tho, their works, singing, visual arts and writing that sort of thing.

One of the best books I ever read (6 times) was Gone With the Wind. The best of that story was when Scarlet took Melanie, Wade, Prissy and Beau back to Tara in a wickerty wagon and a sick horse, riding over dead bodies and the area was burned and devasted by the armies.... and from the very bottom in life, she made her way to the top again, surving everything thrown against her.... I thought, that is who I want to be. That is who I am. No one is going to keep me down...

Why not get an electronic led sign, mount it to your trailer, and then post your psychotic condition of the day?
