Honestly, one of the Los Angeles Dodgers greats passes away and you people do not pay him tribute.

It is disgusting to me.

Is it because he was Mexican? Are you all so bigoted against Mexicans?

Anyways...

From one highly decorated baseball player to another...

To You El Toro!

Today, we share THE BELT!!!!

Yeah I remember him Lex @The Prowler.

He was good but compared to some other great pitchers, just so-so.

His stats:

Valenzuela only won 20 games in a season just once in his career.

Contrast this to some pitchers who did close to or exceeded 10 seasons of this even during the post WWII difficult fully integrated Major leagues.

Perhaps his significance was that he represented the Mexican American community in the US.

Interesting is unlike other Republican politicians Ronald Reagan courted the Latino community, met with Valenzuela & they helped return him massive majorities to the White House.

De donde me da la gana.
You can't quit me. It's LILY, LILY, LILY day in and day out, all day long.

NO, I do not like you. No, I will not ever like you. You are not my type. You're an ugly, bald douchebag. A face that apparently not even a mother could love.

They should get their money back for that awful depiction of El Toro pitching. He was not that thin in his entire life. He had the giant Mexican noggin too. Like "someone" around here.....
Hey Lex @The Prowler back on topic here….

I think arguably the greatest pitcher of all time was a White Guy named Denny McLain.

However he likely will never get that recognition because of time spent in prison.

But when I was as a Kid he was all the rage. He defeated some very good pitchers including his outstanding rival Bob Gibson

McLain was the last pitcher in the majors to win 30 games. McLain carried an entire team on his pitching arm. The Tigers also won the World Series that year

This is unlikely to be attained in AL or NL ever again

Joe, He had 2 very good years - '68, '69. 55 and 15 and low ERA. Other than that he was a .500 pitcher and with an era somewhere around 4. Also, remember that the year when Detroit went to the series and won it was his stable mate who won 3 games - Mickey Lolich, who was a far more steady performer over the course of his career.
