This iconic cartoon series by cartoonist Murray Ball began in the comic strip section of newspapers from 1974 up until 1994.
The comic's protagonist is a border collie called "Dog", owned by Wal Footrot, who runs a sheep and cattle farm called Footrot Flats near the fictional rural town of Raupo in New Zealand.
