"Later in the hearing, during questioning by Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Wray suggested the FBI may need greater latitude to surveil social media for threats.

'We have very specific policies that have been at the department for a long time that govern our ability to use social media. ... What we can’t do on social media is, without proper predication and an authorized purpose, just monitor just in case on social media,'

Wray said. "Now, if the policies should be changed to reflect that, that might be one of the important lessons learned coming out of this whole experience. But that’s not something that currently the FBI has either the authority or certainly the resources, frankly, to do.'"

So, Wray wants more funding for an FBI that is already corrupt. And he wants to be able to monitor social media without proper predication.

Then there's Tlaib. Who seems to be suggesting that this kind of surveillance would be just fine, if only it targeted white people.

“'I hear people talking about new surveillance powers, talking about the possibility of increasing national security powers,' said Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) 'It is incredibly important that, no matter the intention, that every time we give our government new powers they are inevitably used to target people that look like me, oppressed people of color and minority groups across our country — not those who attacked our Capitol.'"

Even though the people actually arrested at the capitol were of different ethnicities and several had ancestry from the Middle East.
