I was worried that I wouldn't like it as it was one of my favourite books as a kid but they kept it true enough and acting was great.

Totally agree.
I'm glad they didn't butcher the franchise. Oh yeah, Viggo Mortensen was to me one of the best things about the movie. Hell, even Liv Tyler was believable.
