I just got my eye exam last week and I'm just thrilled they no longer shoot me in the eye ball with air. I HATED that shit.

They took some photos of my eye. Some new thing they do. And getting my head properly positioned for this was ridiculous and then this blinding light flashed right into goddamn skull.

The woman didnt even warn me. And I paid extra for this too because they were excited telling me about it i figured eh...ill toss an extra 35 bucks sure.

I need bifocals now. I got "progressive" lenses.

We all need reading glasses or bifocals or progressives eventually. The only exception being someone who is nearsighted and needs glasses for distance, they can remove them to read. Oh and blind people are an exception too, they don't need ANY glasses and they're really bad for business.

If you don't have any vision problems and you can read the 20/20 line with or without corrective lenses there is no need for such tests, unless of course you're the doctor and you're looking to fund your 401lk.

Next time you go back feel free to decline the test. If they refuse to do the exam unless you do it (some actually go that far), find another doc who doesn't try to upsell you unnecessary tests and leave a negative review. That's what I would do anyway.

My first thoughts were "oh shit i have a brain tumor" and I was thinking about how im definitely gonna die lol. Perimenopause has made me have episodes of that impending DOOM feeling.
