I have a full unopened pack of filtered Lucky Strikes that I intended to smoke. They're calling my name. I also have a nicotine vape, it tastes like white gummy bears. I plan to keep this pack of smokes until the zombie apocalypse.
My daughter has been begging me to quit, and with my 2nd grandson coming. It's time to quit.
If I crack and smoke, I will own it in this thread.

You can do it but it won't be easy. I quit drinking and smoking about four months ago. I still get the urge to smoke a cigarette. It's not a craving for nicotine, it's the physical act of smoking. Lighting up, inhaling the smoke and feeling it in my lungs ... that's what I miss. It's definitely a mental struggle.

They're a real bitch to quit. It was vaping that helped me get off cigs. Now I don't smoke either. Don't let it beat you Iggy.

You can do it. I did decades ago when I was so addicted I was at 2 packs a day.

Now I just smoke a little pot.

Good for you! quitting smoking is pretty easy, and I should know I've quit several times!

My last smoke was in 1996. It wasn’t easy. Don’t surrender

But seriously I'd been tapering off smoking for quite some time, and just before quitting several years ago I was only smoking maybe 3-5 a day.....but they were a strong cigarette, but anyway after putting up with an increasingly sore hip over the last several years, I was told on a Friday that they wouldn't fix it if I was still smoking, as smoking increases the risk of infections by a lot. I wanted the pain to go away and I smoked the last couple by Saturday afternoon and haven't looked back. As Scooter said up above the physical habit things took a little while to go away, the memory of holding a cigarette, I didn't smoke in the house so stepping out onto my Sunporch would make me feel like I should be lighting up, I still have the last cigarette from my last pack in baggy on top of the fridge, why I don't know except it gives me a small sense of mind over matter, knowing it's there but I don't want it anymore.

I carried my last one around for over a year.

When I threw it away finally I felt a lot lighter.

I figured out a few things since creating this thread. The things you miss are things that I will miss. I gave up alcohol, crack, and coke. I even quit smoking weed for several years.

Current progress. I've stopped smoking in the house and hubby's car. I'm also hand rolling, which tastes like ass and I don't get much of a cigarette out of it, too inconvenient to roll repeatedly. I keep telling myself after I finish this or that and then promise myself a smoke, then I keep adding shit to do, which prolongs my having a cig. I'm down to 10-15 cigs a day. I'm even smoking less weed, too, coincidentally. Annnnd I'm also drinking less.

'you roll it in a piece of paper and light it on fire?'

Still smoking a lot less of weed and cigs. I think I went through about 5 packs since my last update. I was chain-smoking for reference. I smoked less than a quarter of weed as well. Was smoking a half a week.

Thank you, keep it up, please!

You smell bad.

You look way older than you are.

Your skin is gross.

You are not very bright and smoking has done nothing to fix that.

Your internal organs have been permanently damaged.

You thought you were cool and are only now learning that you are an idiot.
