We live country run by foreign crooks... imo. If I was running the country I would revoke citizenships and deport them.

That guy who took his entire family back to Afghanistan to visit the relatives...he was an idiot.
Most people who wanted to see their relatives would have gone alone and left the wife and kids back in America.
Oh well...different culture, different customs.
However his actions went beyond the boundaries of common sense for which he has no on else to blame but himself.
Taking his children into a war zone when he knew damn well the USA was withdrawing form there.
I call that child abuse.

Normally I would agree with you Joe but keep in mind the area was stable with American occupation and people were not warned that we were going to exit suddenly.
The first warning anyone received was the damn power going out.
If they had known the military was being pulled out and still failed to stay out or leave i would agree with you.
But they were making decisions based on American occupation.
They should have been evacuated before the military was pulled out....or given the option.

I don't realy agree with your assessment.
Because I read numerous warnings from the US Stqte Department telling everyone to get the hell out of Afghanistan for months. And actually, if Trump had been President instead of Biden, the time frame would have been even more compressed and likely many more would have been stranded, possibly executed at the hands of the Taliban. Trump wanted leave even sooner than Biden. Not that he's at fault, but it would have compounded the problems of those wanting leave even more.
If Afghans went back in to Afghanistan to rescue family members, that is their own business at their own risk.
They're not really heroes in my opinion. They were a burdensome nuissance to the US government which had to round them up to get them safely out of Afghanistan. Like this guy - he's portrayed as some hero, but he's taking his Dad with him as well - and he's just one more body your country is gonna have to support - even tho he was not part of the actual military support team like the son was. And the son went back into a dangerous war zone on his own cognizance against the advice of the US State Department:
Just another example that you don't just rescye the translators but their whole familes too. They're part of the pakceage whether you like it or not.
A parallel situation might have been Jews who fled Nazi Germany to escape persecution and the Holocaust before World War II. Yes, the ones, who got out were extremely lucky and I'm sure grateful considering the fate that their relatives would vace later on. (such as Albert Einstein). But once they left Germany and other places, they didn't go back to rescue nobody. No visits to Grandma or Aunty Em. Unfortunately many if not most of those Jews left behind perished in death camps. and the ones who left Europes- they knew that was their relatives' fate. It was sad, but that is War.
Given that most of these wanting to get out in the final days appear to be either Afghans or Naturalized US citizens of Afghan descent who refused to get out when they should have - that your goverment did a very good job of evacuating them considering the circumstances. And I'm inclined to think the the US miltary were valiant in their rescue efforts. And their anguish and deaths were in no small part attributable to some strgglers ho refused to leave the country.
I think the latest number left to evactate are about 300 'US Citizens'. Not bad considering they evacuated over 80,000.
However, I'm inclined to believe these are not typical American born citizens like yourself - who probably left the place a long time ago.
There's only so much a government can and do and be expected to do to protect its citizens. It's also up to them to be responsible and listen to warnings and advice from their governments. I think omnipotent pointed that out about Australin citizens of Indian origin.
