If you really want to fight greed, then you have to fight it realistically. I’ve dedicated most of my life to plants, it’s what got me my Applied Science and National Diplomas. Voting Green, recycling almost everything, feeding the Earth, feeding flora and fauna. Educating those that really want to make a difference. Eco-friendly living, bio-fuels, footprint reduction, harnessing natural energies, subsistence growing...the list goes on and I’m trying to do it all.

You know how I'm renovating an old ass trailor(mobile home....whatever these are called) and I came across the coolest thing where someone had used moss and plants on their roof. And I thought.....damn I'd love to do that. But I don't think it would work out well in a state like Michigan.

I do want to get a metal roof up there and put in some solar panels. I'm trying to find and use as much reclaimed materials as I can and only purchase new if i have to.

Obviously things like the plumbing and electric are gonna have to be done new by a professional.

I'm excited today because I found an awesome old wood burning stove for like 75 bucks lol. I'm not ready to install one yet but it's a good deal if it's in good shape. I'll store it until I'm ready for it.

We've had 7 or more weather fronts,... I did take a picture of my front a few weeks ago and it is very unkempt. I couldn't work out in it anyway because my arm isn't 100% yet but I can at least put a sweater on without help, now...

I need an Oak type person who likes gardens... my husband just ruins EVERYTHING and leaves the weeds in UGH...

Anyway, I have ponds and fruit trees, a ripper olive tree and plenty of water saving saving plants...

rolling stones gather no moss... You might be better off finding an established place and reworking it BUT, I knew a girl who sprung a garden within 10 weeks in a brand new house without any garden.. She just added plenty of sheep manure to the sand, planted veggies + flowers and it took off like a rocket.

LET YOUR GARDEN GO.... don't over cultivate it in other words. I wished I had only planted natives now.

I plant to encourage birds and I do get plenty of birds.

Plants inside are wonderful for air quality. I have to be very careful because there are a lot of plants toxic to kitties.....and you know I love my kitties. (I posted an update on the kitten in that thread you and Lotus asked for)

I cant have ivy like I want because it's bad for cats lol.

England is beautiful from observing UK tv I found.

We have plants around us in Australia to cool us down... Having them around a house saves us 30% in cooling costs...

When people walk through my front gate... 40 C becomes 30 c... it is very noticable.
