Seems too extreme.
I thought new laws like they have in Texas would lead to this.
Ever heard of that case where this woman was hooked on meth, her and her husband....and she got pregnant, carried and killed 6 or 7 of her babies and put the bodies in the garage?
I think she was sentenced to life in prison. Was that extreme?
Are you aware that we are talking about ending a human life?
I remember there was a woman in Texas who did something like that. She was from some religious background. Respectable. A Nurse. Not ghetto. White. Had 5 kids. But her husband kept making her pregnant. She became depressed and unhinged then killed her kids. But if I remember correctly she was acquitted because of her mental state/condition.
There's also this issue of husbands who want their wives to be baby machines til they flip out like that. Cant they see when the wife has had it?
You way over simplified Andrea Yates. She had post partum psychosis and wasnt even fit to stand trial.
Her disgusting husband should have been charged with manslaughter for each childs death.
Most people do not do what Yates husband did, Joe. Her doctors were literally screaming at him that she needed immediate care and not to be alone with the kids.
Not that her husband was blameless, but I think he felt somewhat responsible for what happened afterwards.
I've often noticed that whenever a woman is expected to have too many children they become angry and resentful later in life. Especially towards their husbands. Sometimes they just can't handle it & go beserk like that.
Guy who does that to his wife risks putting her into an early grave.
He was literally 100 percent responsible because she was incompetent, and her doctors made this very clear and HE kept getting her pregnant and then leaving the children alone with her.
She was not connected to reality. She was a rare case of post partum psychosis. She had no idea what she was doing.....and the husband should have listened to the doctors. This woman should have been admitted into some inpatient care. Not left alone with children when she wasnt even fit to look after herself.
Its 100 percent his fault this happened.
I actally know a guy whom I believe impregnated his wife to death. She had 5 or 6 children by him until 1 day she finally croaked.
Thing is...he talked about her as if she was still alive. He was an instructor at a college who kept rambling on about his wife as if she was still here. "MY wife this, my wife that."
..and then one day he said to the entire class..." You know what? My wife is no longer here. SHE passed away."
He was clearly still grieving for her.
I think he quite literally Loved her to death.
He was evidently quite selfish and in the end paid the price with his loneliness.
I think your anti child bias is telling you her pregnancies killed her and that if she wasnt a mother she would be alive today.
And that likely her motherhood MAY have played a small part, if any, in her cause of death.
I know of women who died from abortion complications. Cervical lacerations, uterine perforation, post surg hemorrhage or pneumonia and other infections are real. As is a heightened risk of suicide and/or substance abuse.
But I can sympathize with the males pressing need to brainwash women into viewing the natural abilities of our awesome bodies as a form of slavery or a curse and instead have us perform for the sexual pleasure of men. Without any threat of long term commitment.
Oh wait no.....that was just gas.
Carry on.
No. I'm not saying that.
Just that fewer children would probably have been more fulfilling and more appropriate.
Like in the Andrea Yates case.
Why can't a woman be a good mother to 2 or 3 children instead of 5,6 or 10?
It's evident when too much is simply too much for a person to handle.
It's liek pouring water into a jug and it overflows.
Well...common sense would just say don't fill it past the brim otherwise the jug can't take any more water.
What I gleaned from his example is that sometimes a guy has to give a woman some breathing room to breathe.
The only person who can speak on that is the individual mother, Joe.
You have no idea what child beating and motherhood is like or how fulfilled or unfulfilled a mother is with the size of her brood.
Be careful here, Joe. You are doing more projecting than anything.
Actually I knew a Canadian womeh who married this guy in the States and he called himself a reformed Catholic. so when they got married, he siad it was his goal to have 10 children.
Subsequently, they had many children til they made it to 9.
Then one day he fell ill.
The doctors said he needed a blood transfusion.
But he refused on 'religious' grounds and later died leaving his wife with 9 children to raise.
Actually, I think it was more a case of the guy couldn't handle that many children.
I think when he died he wasn't even 40 or just barely that.
He probably realized the monstrosity he created as in "Dr. Frankenstein, I've created a Monster!"
so, the only way outta that was to die.
"Please doctor don't save me."
and so the story went. True story, I'm not making it up.
But that sorta thinking can also turn around and bite the author in the ass too.
