Not the 1st time in history this has occurred. Mostly working class Germans rejected the Democratic Weimar Republic in favor of Nazi Germany. More recently Turkey voted out democracy in favor of a strongman Erdogan. There is a book written about that called ‘ How to lose a Country’.
I remember talking to educated Turks 10. Years ago about how their country was sliding into fascism when Erdogan rose to power.
Hegseth also represents this fascist ideal. Fascists don’t care whether he abused women. Neither does Trump who raped a 14 year old. Collateral damage y’know. Its whether he pushes through their agenda. Thats all that matters.
