Chicago drug violence wouldn't be an issue if either drug consumption was legalized or the demand for drugs was reduced.

The American appetite for illegal drugs fuels the problems in Chicago and other urban centers.
No. While I won't downplay criminal drug violence, which has been a problem forever in all urban centers, the real "root cause" of the violence problem in Chicago is the direct result of the generational welfare regime imposed on the black communities on the south and west sides of the city through the "Great Society" welfare programs of the vile Democrat LBJ in the 1960s. These welfare programs served to destroy the family structures within these communities by disincentavising marriage and stable family structures.

I actually know a nigger bitch (and yes, I'd call her a nigger bitch to her face and she'd just laugh) who's been on welfare her whole life. She has four kids from 3 different men. One of those men, who I also know, was the father of her first two kids and wanted to marry her, but she declined his many proposals because she didn't want to lose her welfare benefits.

Luckily in her case, all four of her kids grew up to be good and productive citizens. I think that is only through the influence of my friend who fathered her first two children and wanted to make her his wife because he stayed a part of his kid's lives as they grew. He's a good man.

Anyway, last I heard my nigger bitch friend recently became a great-grandmother and she's younger than me!

She's still on welfare.

This anecdote illustrates what the problem is in Chicago. I have no idea what might have happened to my nigger bitch friend's kids had it not been for the influence of the good man who was the father of her first two children. They might have all ended up as gang bangers spraying the street with lead and taking out random innocent bystanders.

You do a shit job showing causation between generational welfare and drug fueled gang violence, Peepaw.

. Yes, I agree, and yet by my own observations and knowledge of how the system is worked I'd say there might be something to what Mr Peasant says. What I'd like to see is the data he used to make that positive correlation, and its causal relation to inner city violence. Not to say it doesn't exist, but neither is Raggedy's opinion evidence in itself.

I just watched Sounder last weekend, so I know full well how poverty can get a good man to do bad things.

... and where do the gang members come from, Lily?

Do they sprout from the asphalt from sown dragons teeth like skeleton warriors in an old movie?

No. There is a ready pool of idle and directionless young men ready to do crime for a pocket full of ready cash.

Duh! Think things through, woman!

When I was a kid, the Dagos ran the streets and ran crime. Yes, there was violence and shootings, but the ones shot were almost always the one's the Dagos were aiming at, not an innocent kid a block away hit by an errant bullet because the 14-year-old fatherless nigger punk shooting the gun decided to empty the magazine of his glock at another fatherless nigger across the street, but missed with every single shot, but did manage to kill a schookid walking home a block away.*

*You can look it up. Do your own research, lazy fucking assbags.

Yes, broken families most probably do contribute to these problems.

This is a complex problem. However, the macro issue is economics, manufacturing was taken offshore and jobs were scarce, the GOP response was to declare a War on Drugs under Nixon. The anemic drug campaign that was Just Say No under Reagan and then mass incarceration further removing black and brown men from their families.

Bad policy is the problem, for damn sure. But, hey, let's dumbshits make policy...it always turns out so well.

Bullets fired at UnitedHealthcare CEO had words written on them

on Wednesday morning had words written on them, CBS News has confirmed.

The words "deny," "defend" and possibly "depose" appeared on shell casings recovered from the scene of the shooting in New York City, according to New York City Police Department officials. Law enforcement officials said they are examining whether the words relate to a possible motive involving insurance companies and their responses to claims. ABC News first reported this information.

A source briefed on the investigation said each word was meticulously written, not etched, onto the casings in Sharpie. Officials are examining the casings to determine whether the words could be related to a possible motive involving insurance companies and their responses to claims. Investigators believe they could reference "the three D's of insurance" coined by the industry's critics, which are "delay," "deny" and "defend." The alliteration is a comment on the tactics that opponents say insurance companies use to delay or deny policyholders' claims.

before 7 a.m. ET Wednesday, by a masked gunman who fled the area before police arrived. The shooting happened in a busy section of Manhattan outside of the Hilton Midtown hotel, where the executive was set to attend a conference for UnitedHealthcare investors. Thompson had been staying at the Marriott across the street, authorities said.

The NYPD released the first unmasked images Thursday of an individual wanted for questioning in connection with the shooting, asking the public for help identifying that individual. The images were taken from a hostel in the Manhattan Valley area of the Upper West Side. A law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation told CBS News the man used a fake ID with a fake name to check into the hostel. The hostel said in a statement to CBS News it was cooperating with the NYPD.

Security footage showed the gunman walking up to the Hilton at around 6:45 a.m. Police said he had been lying in wait for several minutes and proceeded to shoot Thompson at least once in the back, and, later, at least once in the leg. The suspect was seen approaching Thompson briefly in the video before crossing the street. He then took off on a bike and headed to Central Park. Police recovered three live rounds and three discharged shell casings from the scene.

The keystone cops have determined that he probably left NYC.

No shit, an assassin that left town. Who would have guessed?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he was a CEO of a fortune 500 company.
Perhaps, she was asking why the American Healthcare system is paying one individual out of 350 Million+/- that kind of money that could pay for healthcare for a lot of people. Let's review where this started

Reagan's deregulation of Medicine led to for profit healthcare, and it's been downhill from there.

My Sister used to manage a State retirement bureau, she got to be friends with this guy that was essentially a professional middle man between endusers like my sister and Pharma, The AMA and more importantly Big Insurance. So he's not a dr. not an insurance exec. just a guy in between....that guy was filthy rich owned 5 houses all in upscale resort towns and all lottery winner dream homes...

He's a middle man. In our Insurance Industry, my sisters experience is not an isolated one.

US manufacturing was pretty strong until 1989 or so.

I made a dissenting comment & I was shut down by DKG

So censorship is alive & well at The Blue Cashew
Oh come on, Joe. I watched most of it. You troalled the fucker with your passive/aggressive but mostly passive/passive Canuckian shitstainery by filling the shoutbox with your rambling bullshit well and long after he asked you to stop doing it.

Me? I don't care. I got a scroll wheel. But you recognized that it got under DKG's skin so you chummed it and you chummed it and you chummed it some more until even mild-mannered DKG said enough.

His prerogative since he owns the forum, just as Bastard Factory owns the prerogative here as he owns the forum.

Well trolled, but whining about it is kinda pussylike.

DKG can't stand it when people disagree with him

This is a very Asian trait

Do you wonder why Asian countries are so conformist & everybody steps in line to obey Dear Leader?

Koreans esp are like that@Reggie_Essent

And they really slap their women around.

Maybe yad like that kinda culture eh?

Just about every woman would obey you like a slave
