I like Popeye's except for the biscuits, mashed potatoes and well, actually most of their sides are terrible. Red beans and rice is the only one worthwhile. I ask them to hold the rice.

One of my oldest friends is from New Orleans he was excited when when Popeye's arrived in Portland, he knew them from back home, he didn't love their menu or anything....but it reminded him of home cooking, since New Orleans/Cajun Cuisine was not well represented in the PNW in the 80's
