Getting ready for work upstairs I heard her her wheeze/cough like she would do every so often, but she wasn't at the bottom of the stairs when I looked and she stopped it.
She had gone outside and did her business, came back in, and I went up to get ready for work.
I then heard her struggle to claw her way upstairs, which was unusual for the morning, and I met her as she reached the top there........she came in the bedroom and collapsed, grasping and wheezing again. She got up after my wife filled a bowl we had up there with water, but did not make it to the bowl located in the bathroom. She dropped again, and this time for good, "gasping out her last" as noted in the scene where old Scooge's things were being sold.
Except........Ruby Dog sensed her time was up, and clawed her way to see her people one last time before she passed over the Rainbow Bridge.
Nothing but pup-cups and an unlimited supply of basketballs to pop going forward.......she was hell on a basketball.
