So if there isn't enough money to help Americans then how come there is enough money for Empire Building & to buy Greenland? And taking over that island would require billions of dollars to build infrastructure, set up military installations to establish a US presence there.

I'm starting to believe that the US being unable to pay its National debt is a lie & is actually intentional. Elon Musk is said to be worth $400 billion and doesn't pay his taxes. Nor does Warren Buffet Larry Ellison Jeff Bezos and scores of other billionaires. So people like these hide their wealth & pass on the debt burden to at least 90% of Americans who see their benefits cut. Being part of Denmark may offer greater protection for Greenland than becoming an independent nation which wouldn't last. The historical parallel is Newfoundland which couldn't make it as a country, became insolvent and was eventually forced to become part of Canada.
