Shouldn't this outrage the American public?

Where did he get permission to destroy your public property & a heritage site like that?

Unbelievable itd be like somebody tearing down the Parliament buildings in Canada or the UK without public consent. just wouldn't happen here or other countries

HE's giving the honor of a ballroom to the WH? HE is? I think the taxpayers are "giving" it while Trump is grifting for all he's worth from the taxpayers. He's never given anything to anyone. He's a taker through and through.

I think it's being paid for with all the money he's gotten from his lawsuits and "donations'". But the construction plans wer supposed to be approved first. He didn't wait...

Where the forest meets the sea.
If I had my way
If I had my way
If I had my way
I would tear this whole building down

Delilah was a woman, she was fine and fair
She had good looks - God knows - and coal black hair
Delilah she gained old Samson's mind
When first he saw this woman, she looked so fine

Actually if I were a Democratic President who got in in 2028 I'd have Trump's ballroom torn down & the old wing restored to its former glory.

Arent national monuments or public property subject to hearings prior to their construction ?

At least that's the way it s done in most cities

And who benefits ?

Which contractors were hired? Did it get sent our for tender?

Was it a friend of Trump? or one of Trump's companies ?

That's why that renovation should be ruled illegal and torn down later.Did The project didn't go through the proper channels

Heck, why not just tear down the whole WH because Trump said so.

If he had his way he'd replace it with a trump hotel tower.

Seems like bullshit ta me

Also does this ballroom conform to proper safety and building code standards ? how about the permitting? was that an open process?

Or National security standards? because if it doesn't it could make the White House and its future occupants vulnerable to espionage or terrorist attacks.

Above all Trump is desecrating a National monument funded by American taxpayers. He may as well tear down the Lincoln Memorial or Monticello while he's at it.

I'm surprised that there hasn't been more public outrage in the US about this.

that's the kind of scandal that could bring down a government in other countries.

Here's an excerpt of where the funding is coming from:

Several companies have pledged to donate $5 million or more for the project, the outlet cited sources familiar with the matter as saying. Trump has even had personal discussions with business executives about chipping in.

Google, R.J. Reynolds, Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockheed Martin, Palantir and NextEra Energy have donated. There have also been donations from firms in the tech, manufacturing, banking and health industries, sources told the outlet.

...so Trump is selling favors for these donors to gain an unfair political influence that most American citizens can't.

Also Trump claims that the ballroom is gonna be privately funded but what about the maintenance and upkeep after he leaves office? That's not gonna be privately funded unless the WH ceases to be a National monument and is owned by these corporate donors and they pay for it. Currently I believe the upkeep of the WH is funded by American taxpayers.

If I was the Democratic challenger in 2028 I'd make that a campaign issue & a promise to have it torn down @Lily

There have been many changes made to The White House over the years.

What only a few people know is that much on the new construction is going to be done underground. The bunker needs to be...."updated".....the ballroom is just a distraction....

I cannot say anything more about it.
