He was a beast in the ring.

How many times did he knock Joe Frasier down in one round? Was it 7 times??!?

He had the greatest comeback in boxing history. I watched the comeback from the beginning to the end, and it was remarkable.

He actually lived a pretty long time for such a big man.

I guess it was 6 times in 2 rounds....it has been a while since I watched the fight.

Keep in mind that Frasier was the undefeated, undisputed World Champion.

He was a Great Fighter Lex @The Prowler

The US produced 3 Olympic Gold Medal winners who went onto become Heavyweight Champion of the world.

1960 Cassius Clay
1964 Joe Frazier
1968 George Foreman

1972 was another Black Superstar only he was from Cuba. Teofilo Stevenson who would win the Olympic Gold Medal 3 times.

He was a lean and mean fighting machine, in his prime. Also as the sport goes, mad props to Smoking Joe for getting right back up again after so many knock downs, as long as he could.

I do not know what hurt Frasier worse, that quick beatdown, or the three marathon fights with Ali.

The fight game left him with pretty significant brain damage, though. He died at 67.

He must have taken a lot of blows to the head because he was a relatively small fighter who had to punch up while usually much larger taller fighters would rain blows on him below.

I Just read this.

Back when I was into boxing I always enjoyed his fights. He was a terror in the 70's...but this was my favorite fight of his.

Didn't seem wise for Moorer to go head to head with Foreman in that fight. Moorer was a very skilled boxer who matched Foreman blow for blow but eventually the Big Man got to Moorer & he got knocked out.

And then got down on his knees in the corner and cried like a baby.

It was totally awesome

Moorer was winning the fight and his southpaw stance gave Foreman trouble. He fought a really good fight exactly how he needed to fight.

Foreman landed a couple of 1-2 combos. That happens. But they landed "on the button" and that was that. Foreman's power was devastating.

I could go into detail, but it would be wasted on the audience.

George Foreman's lopsided Gold Medal Victory at the 1968 Olympics:

Perhaps outdone only by this guy:

Have to wonder how Stevenson would have done as Pro
