Getting past partisan media hysteria, here is an interesting talk with Desantis and hospital CEOs and doctors who are dealing with the variant

The roundtables are discussions with the CEO's of the hospitals. He's literally talking to them constantly and is well aware of the on-the-ground situation. If you watch the round table, you'll see that. This one had:

The CEO of Orlando health: David Strong,
The Chief medical officer from Orlando health: Dr. George Rawls.
ACA secretary: Simone Marsteller
The CEO of Jackson memorial in Miami Dade: Carlos Mogoya,
The CEO of Tampa General: John Cora
The CEO of North Broward Hospital district: Shane Strom,
and Jacksonville mayor: Lenny Curry.

Some interesting parts

4:24
Carlos Mogoya (CEO Jackson memorial in Miami Dade) - …”about 12% of our admissions are from vaccinated people. Half of that group are people that are coming in for other reasons than covid. So we have about ¼ of our positive people, right now we have 280 patients that are covid positive, one quarter of those are here for other purposes and are asymptomatic and of course, when we test them, we find out that they have covid, but they’re not here for Covid even though they are actually rated as a covid patient but they are not here for covid purposes and those are vaccinated people. So we’re seeing half of that 12% that I’m telling you, so, i think the number of people that are actually vaccinated are in the hospital because of covid is a lot lower than the number from that perspective”

at time code 11:16
Shane Strom (CEO of Tampa General) says "I think another critical or important number to share with you is that 80% of our patient census is *non-covid patients*. These are critically ill patients, many of whom delayed care during the pandemic."

Here's another cool one for you. At timecode 12:30 - Shane Strom (CEO of Tampa General) - "I’ll give you a great statistic. So, those who have been vaccinated who are coming in are typically over 70 here and even if the average age is in the 50’s but what we’re really seeing is that their length of stay, the vaccinated, is about a day or two. Those who are unvaccinated, we’re seeing about 5-7 days." [and with the Monoclonal antibody infusions] "They’re coming in, they're able to get those and we’re seeing our patients that come in for an infusion, it lasts for about an hour, we watch them for another hour and then we’re able to discharge them."

So you're seeing the actual doctors saying that some of those "hospitalizations" the news is talking about is a 2 hour infusion treatment and then they go home and recover.

So people would rather read media blather about this discussion than actually hear the discussion for themselves.

And that's sad.

I guess information about the delta outbreak in FL isnt interesting or fun if you have no one to hate and blame. This is why our country is screwed.
