But if we provide school lunches in poor districts, who’s going to pay for the Rocket Yacht to Mars?

This is way beyond school lunches, Admin.

Can you be serious for a minute. Why do you I pay higher taxes than Warren Buffet? Or you, or any of us here?

The government should force billionaires to give up most of their fortunes to public works projects of their choice - when they die. Such as schools hospitals roads dams infrastructure etc.

They were given a Privileged life among other things the ability to avoid paying taxes. So when they die these billionaires should be forced to give it up. They can't take large sums of money with them so it should be used to benefit society not reinforce an oligarchy

The tax system should be structured like retirement plans in the US such as 401k plans or RRSPs in Canada where the retiree invests but then has to pay taxes on it later.

I'm not sure what the answer is, but this borrow and spend lifestyle needs to be curtailed.

Oh look! More envy from the Leftist crowd,

Every single thing with you people is about your personal envy towards any one you think might have more pennies in their pockets than you all do.

Well it's so fucking obvious to an outsider what the problem in America is.

Greedy rich billionaires hanging onto money they can never possibly spend and certainly wont need when they die.

So most of it may as well go towards helping improve society. This doesn't mean it has to go to the government but could be used for beneficial private ventures or public private partnerships.

Fairness doesn't equal envy...

You must really believe they're your betters, thus, taxation is too low for them. You pay more than they do, fool.

Yes

all that wealth from the billionaire class should be expropriated from them upon death to improve the society @Reggie_Essent

America and other nations should seize those fortunes from them when they die. Otherwise America is just creating it's own autocratic monarchy

Billionaires dont need money when they are dead and buried in the grave.

"Fairness" is a concept for middle school girls to whine about. Life isn't "fair" and never has been.

The fact is the top 5% of earners in the US pay about 40% of all the tax revenue collected in any given year.

Isn't that enough for you? I'm not rich by any stretch, yet my tax burden is very close to 50% of every dollar I earn.

Am I not paying my "fair share," Lily? What is a "fair share" in your opinion?

So you think other people's money rightfully belongs to the State?

Of course you do. You're a Canadian and a dullard to boot.

I'm not talking about the top 5%. I'm talking about those that don't pay much, if anything at all, the top .01%. Buffet paid 0.3%.

Even he's said he needs to pay more.

The USA'S gonna eventually discover that they cant afford to have this billionaire Oligarch class @Lily

Much like the Europeans discovered they couldn't afford to subsidize dukes & barons. Even where they still exist such as England the government taxes them & they way they make a living is giving tours of their estates. I think countries like Sweden took over many of the palaces & castles which used to belong to the royal family and they're now used as museums to generate revenue for the state.

Fuckin' losers always blaming rich people for their own problems.

Take some personal responsibility.
No...more like encourage anyone who wants to become rich like a billionaire to chase their dreams.

But when their lives are done, pass their money on so that it will benefit society Lex @The Prowler

Example I provided earlier from our own country:

What you don't seem to realize Lex is Pattinson's daughter was kidnapped and he had to pay a huge ransom. So that experience may have softened his social views to give back.

That's what happens a lot in Latin America where the rich don't share their wealth the poor extort it out of them through kidnappings.

If wealth isn't properly distributed crime becomes an industry like it is in many poor countries.

BTW I've seen Pattison walking downtown on the streets of Vancouver.

Do you think he could do that in a place like Mexico? Not bloody likely. If he did he'd have an entourage of bodyguards protecting him.

The Leftists here are so focused on money. I see it so many times a day.

"How much does this cost? How much does that cost? How much does he have? How much does he pay in taxes?"

It is kinda pathetic.

You can see it in this thread.

You could see it yesterday when Senile @Joe and Lardo @Lily were talking about my (FYI, pretty expensive) carpet and suggesting it was "cheap".

I saw it just a few minutes ago in the SB when @jack and X were talking about comic book art. Out of nowhere @jack blurts out that his comics are valuable (as in, the dollar value) and asks X how expensive his are; like it is some kind of competition.

Their envy makes them miserable.

(I love it.)

Well then you've just described yourself Lex @The Prowler.

Tell me...what kind of IDIOT flashes CANADIAN money on a cheap carpet he got in the bargain section at Home Depot to impress Americans on this forum whose currency is 40% higher?
