Now foreigners are truly not welcome

Could it also mean that Americans one day eventually won't be able to leave if they don't like living in the USA anymore?!

Already dozens of Americans who've tried to renounce their citizenship have been blocked or refused from doing so

There are steps to follow to renounce your citizenship.

These Judges are getting out of hand. I want a SCOTUS ruling immediately, otherwise we'll have to start hanging Judges from lamp posts.

I don't see any Constitutional basis for these repeated examples of Judicial over reach. This is clearly an usurpation of powers not accorded to the lower levels of the federal judiciary.

I have wondered if he's going to turn his venom against expats at some point. He really does think he's king.

He might.

And I don't think he's alone in that regard.

The mentality of the US Gov is that its citizens are their property and can be taxed anywhere in the world.

Of course if someone leaves they take their money with them and the potential tax revenue which the us gov feels it's being deprived of.

The cost of renouncing us citizenship goes up every year. Used to be free but now it cost over $2000.

I already pay taxes in the US every year. They claim you for eternity. I have a friend who is English. She lived in the US for 15 years and became a dual citizen. She moved back to the UK and has not worked in the US since, but she still has to file US taxes every year.

If I become a dual citizen here, which I hope to do, I will still pay US taxes forever. If I renounce, it will be different. But I won't do that because of my kids.

If you have income from a company or other institution within the United States, then you have to pay income tax to the United States.

That is how it works in countries all over the world.

Why do you keep saying shit like "I already pay taxes in the US every year." in thread after thread after thread?

Do you think it makes you special?
