The once Mighty Las Vegas is in the Gutter thanks in large part to Trump's Immigration policies and the Heavy Handed policies of ICE

They'll keep pretending he is Making America Great Again while everything he touches turns to shit.

This will be good for the GOP going into the midterms.

See how much you'll be laughing then.

I think that Trump fears all tourists or foreigners entering the United States because he can't control them so easily.

Its akin to Joseph Stalin who had thousands of Soviet POWs sent to concentration camps after WWII because he feared they were infected with foreign influences & might overthrow or kill him. (4:50)

Paranoia. so he doesn't care if the tourist industry gets destroyed. as long as those damn foreigners stay away from him.

Ironically however the ones who've tried to kill him so far are mostly White American Men living in the United States.

I think he has dementia and has no understanding of how his goofy policies impact the economy.

And that's how old people think.
They wanna feel safe

So if some decree discourages foreigners from entering the US all the better.

You'd think the older you get, the less you have to fear. Life experience should help a person understand that we get through most thinngs

People have been spending too much on vacations.

It would be a good thing for the tourism industry to shrink until people get their finances in order.

But a lot of people depend upon the tourist industry for their livelihoods Lex @The Prowler

Hotel/Resturant staff, Airlines, Gambling houses. One fewer tourist can mean one fewer job for an American worker.

One tourist to Las Vegas, like $10-20,000+ for a visit.

$10-20,000 is not "one fewer job". What is the profit on that $20K? And how much do you think the lowly worker sees of that profit? Way, way, way less than $20K.

It does not help your argument when you depend on exaggeration.

Vacations are not a necessity. People need to live within their means. Anyone providing a service to a vacationer is not providing an essential service, so that job is expendable.

USA needs to get financially stable. That begins with individuals being financially stable.

Think Big Picture. What is the net result of a bunch of people vacationing in Las Vegas?

More buffets throwing uneaten food away. Waste.

More electricity to run the slot machine and all the lights on The Strip. Waste.

More fuel being burned to fly those tourists in, then back home. Waste.

Shutting down Las Vegas for a year or two would save America a lot of resources.

The Big Picture Net Result of tourism is WASTE.

Problem is services including tourism are a good chunk of the US economy.

So if that gets gutted that's a lot of jobs.

Waiters cooks hotel convention staff etc

So what?

They are non-essential.

Do they provide any necessities? No. Then they can be eliminated.

It is time to start living conservatively again.

He's a typical conservative, trying to get into others' lives to tell them how to live.

People are free to do what they want.

And they are deciding that they do not want to spend so much money on trips to Las Vegas.

It seems that it is Senile Joe and you, Lardo, who are upset that people are deciding for themselves.

Well, duh. Leftists always know what's best for everyone else. If you don't do what they think you ought to do, the way they think you ought to do it, then You Must Be Compelled.

You know what the attributes described by the stereotype are. You know there are people who exhibit those attributes. Those are leftists. It's not rocket surgery, it just requires an impartial appraisal.

Where's the substance? Commies, marxists, etc. All those labels are bullshit. Righties have TDS.

The need for the right to deflect is amazing.

I don't think it's a matter of choice. Shifting technologies are largely to blame. From the '50s until the advent of the internet, Vegas was the place to go for gambling, whoring, and all the other delightful flavors of hedonism it offers.

Now you can do most of that crap anywhere you want; so why go to Vegas other than to say you've been there?

We're watching something similar happen to theaters, and for similar reasons. It's an overpriced experience that doesn't merit the cost when you can stay home and VOD whatever you want to watch, without the sticky floors, jabbering pricks, and cell-phone pirates.
