Donald Trump has found his blonde replacement for Karoline Leavitt, and Katie Zacharia is already raising serious questions about what passes for truth in the new White House press office.
The 41-year-old conservative commentator, named Trump's new press secretary on Friday, has a social media history that includes election denialism and a grotesque attempt to link abortion medication to the Nazi death camps.
In November 2025, Zacharia posted that mifepristone, the medication commonly used in abortions, was “connected to the manufacturer of the deadly gas Zyklon B, used in the World War II concentration camps.”
She then launched into a lengthy discourse on the corporate history of I.G. Farben, the German chemical conglomerate implicated in Nazi atrocities.
What she failed to explain was that mifepristone was developed by a French pharmaceutical company in the 1980s, obviously decades after World War II. That company wasn't acquired by the German pharmaceutical giant Hoechst until 1997, long after the drug was approved in France.
And for the record, the French scientist credited as the father of the abortion pill, Étienne-Émile Baulieu, had actually served in the French Resistance against the Nazis – quite a
historical detail to leave out while dragging the Holocaust into an argument about reproductive healthcare.
But there’s more. In December 2025, Zacharia responded to a tribute to Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, a 20-year-old National Guard soldier murdered while serving in Washington, Zacharia this way:
“The price of a stolen 2020 election and subsequent autopen presidency is American Blood.”
Can you guess where this one’s going? Yup, Beckstrom had been deployed to Washington in August 2025 as part of TRUMP'S National Guard operation, months after Joe Biden left office. She was shot that November.
There is NO evidence the 2020 election was stolen, and Zacharia provided none connecting Biden to the soldier's death.
The woman whose job is to tell the American people what their government is doing has already demonstrated a willingness to spread falsehoods about what their government has done.
And now she'll be standing behind the White House podium, demanding that reporters take her word for it.
