so I did when the gold to silver ratio was still good

Got 1 ounce of pure Gold and 2 ounces of Pure Platinum for that trade.

That was 'a steal' Reggie, since I Paid a fraction of the price of the silver for what I traded it in for.

I paid maybe $2400 USD for 80 ounces of Silver, but got 1 ounce of Gold in return.

65 ounces silver for 2 ounces of Platinum.

Gold's worth around $5000 an ounce. so that was like getting an ounce of Gold for half price.

Same with the Platinum. got it for 1/2 price too.
