He is right that eastern Ukraine is all flat plains without cover to hide anti-armor missile teams. It will be totally different from the forests of Northern Ukraine where there are lots of places to hide. The flat plains are perfect armor territory so that will play towards Russia's strengths.

We probably have 2-4 weeks to armor and APCs to the Ukrainians before Putin's big push in the east.

I also agree with building permanent bases in Poland as a sign of US commitment to NATO but it needs dedicated combat units assigned there just like we had in west Germany prior to 1991.
