WHy on earth did she leave it that long ?

She was in her 70's.,

She had decided to do nothing because she didn't want go through the surgeries, chemo, and everything else. She wanted to pass peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones. It's hard to rationalize her actions, but that's what she wanted.
