Last year the federal government downgraded active surveillance for this parasite. Now thousands are sick

But you can take solace knowing that the rich people have even more yacht money to spend on even more yachts.

Ragefag, Expat Froot Bat and Teh Asshat this is your cue to cry and snivel.

Ahhh this makes sense. I could kind of tell yesterday this was going to become a Trump thing.

I never said "big produce is to blame". I stated that if you want to cut your risk of contaminated produce, purchasing from local farmers who follow cleaner irrigation practices and have less people handling the operation as opposed to commercial brands that involve hundreds of people is the way to go

Which was well known long before Trump and this one parasite. We see recalls on bagged greens before and its just normal that contamination is a higher risk when you have commercial brands.

But make it political and spend a few days pretending you actually care about wise food supply choices and ill continue to shop the way I have for 20 years. Actually since the Dole recall when it was lysteria.

So it's Trump's fault that people don't wash their produce? I see.

How did people ever survive before all those taxpayer-paid government "inspectors" were hired in the first place?

A lot of them didn't.

In 1900, approximately 30% of all deaths in the United States occurred in children under 5 years old. The infant mortality rate was roughly 100 to 160 deaths per 1,000 live births, and up to 18% of children died before reaching their fifth birthday. [

These staggering rates were primarily driven by infectious and environmental diseases before the widespread availability of modern antibiotics and vaccines. [
