Why is the Cracker Barrel logo change a thing?

It's sort of like why some of us including me are so anti-transgender. It's none of our business but we find it offensive.

It's so unnatural and not fair to female athletes. You're born with a certain gender, stick the fuck with it. Just like previous generations did without complaining.

And I sure as heck wouldn't want to be single and dating right now and find out at a very inopportune time that the hottie I've been buying drinks for has a set of balls hanging between "their" legs.

Uhm, what does that have to do with Cracker Barrel?

From what I read about the criticism of Cracker Barrel's logo change, it's driven by people that don't agree with what it represents, it runs contrary to their value systems and preconceived beliefs, so they're offended.

I was trying to draw a similar analogy using transgenders because it was the first thing that popped into my head.

I don't get offended by what people do in their private lives if it's not harming anyone.

I wouldn't get upset about a logo change either, which is far less meaningful.

You wouldn't but a lot of people ARE offended by Cracker Barrel's logo change, just like me and a lot of others are offended by those who chose to cut off their perfectly good penises or decide to add a fake one to their body.

Is it gratifying, the being offended part?

Corporations change logos and decor all the time and hardly anyone bats an eye. This became a cause because Cracker Barrel is a chain for the delicate trumper demographic

I don't know that I'd use that word. Offended is anough of an adjective on it's own, it doesn't need further escalation.

That would make it "gratifyingly offended". It's over the top.

I simply wonder what benefit there is to being outraged by what others do if it doesn't directly impact you.

In your case, I suppose transgender issues do impact you.

A logo isn't nearly as impactful or it shouldn't be.

Actually they really don't.

There isn't a benefit in being...well I wouldn't call it outraged. More like I find it distasteful and as I said previously I can't respect such people.

Okay so from what i gather, i think people are mad because Cracker Barrel has been around a long time and the reasons it is being changed is what seems to have people mad about it. I guess it was changed because the old country theme is thought of racist.

Seems like a tempest in a teapot.

Seems like a tempest in a teapot.

I really have no attachment or any feelings for the Cracker Barrel.

I will say the new design for the inside is very bland and not nearly as welcoming and cozy....but i dont even ever go there.

All that heavy ass food is too much for me.

I've only been there one time because my mother wanted to go. I didn't really care for it.

No one is mad about "armed occupation" ...and i roll my eyes typing that.....because people used a democrat process and voted for that.

That "armed occupation" IS a result of democracy. There is no "shift".

If democrats actually gave a shit about tax paying and law abiding citizens and communities and they DID something about crime and making communities safer and cleaner, Trump wouldnt be president right now terrorizing all of you folks on the left. Js.

Not that i think you are ever going to listen to anyone else.

Same. My oldest daughters father lives in SC, so when she would go for the summer him and i would drive and meet at a halfway point and that was a Cracker Barrel in VA.

One time, we actually went in to eat because the kids were hungry and cranky from the car ride.

I had a farmers omlette i think? It was so heavy. I took two bites and felt my cholesterol go through the roof. Made me sluggish on the ride home too.

Never ate there again.

Never been to a Cracker Barrel, but Leftist Democrat Transexuals sure are murdering a lot of innocent christian children.

Maybe instead of banning guns we should ban sexually deviant Democrats.

Maybe go fuck off and talk about it on the thread that addresses the shootings and stay on topic.

I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep for a couple weeks, the little French Cafe on the next block repainted their sign, and the color they chose is really bad!

Think of an establish chain business you really enjoy thats been around a very long time.

Now imagine Maga people changed it all up to suit their tastes politcally. Make it more redneck friendly....or however you think of Trump voters.

Youd be salty as fuck. You know you would.

Im sure this will pass and everyone will get through it and survive.

Last months tribulation was Sydney Sweanies jeans add. This month...Cracker Barrel. We will survive and endure to see the next big ordeal in another month.

Perhaps we should all be grateful that we live in a time and place where we can all afford to fuss over such meaningless matters.

Probably not. I just don't patronize establishments that I don't care to support.

There is a small percentage of Americans, on both political sides, that are outrage junkies.

They complain about everything, especially the shit that really doesn't matter.

Now that is reality.

The impetus for people having been upset about the change was that it represented a campaign of erasure toward southern heritage iconography. The logo was, "too southern" and "too white." Changing it was seen as a deliberate shot fired in the culture war.
