It would appear that users who invested $ in upgrading their PC's to run Windows 11, might have to chuck those in order to use the coming Windows 12 OS @Mr. Wednesday :

Cuz this Win 12 will be AI driven, perhaps needs an ARM chip like those found in Silicon Macs & uses an NPM.

So right away it could render many PCs completely obsolete.

Also, no sense investing too much in Windows 11 if Win 12 is coming out later in 2025 or 2026 as it is rumored.

No sense in investing in Windows 12, either, if this forced obsolescence shit (not to mention the clear data-mining issue) is what Microsoft is going to rely on for revenue going forward.

Actually @Mr. Wednesday a number of the same issues about privacy are also cropping up in the newer Mac OS's as well.
Newer, but not necessarily improved. And Apple is becoming increasingly snoopy about its user's activities. OS X is becoming more restrictive ie - I shut the 'Save to Cloud' function off in OS X 16, but it keeps turning it back on. Just like Microsoft, Apple doesn't leave its users alone either.

They always wanna know what they're up to, what they are potentially 'stealing' etc.

The Old Os X and even the apps seemed to be better than the new.

So even Apple users are looking for an alternative to OS X.

Linux doesn't run on the new Silicon Macs. At least the vast majority of them. Neither does Windows. I bought the last Intel Mac ever made & don't intend to spend to much more on the Apple platform.

As an Apple user, I might also switch to Linux.

Apple has this nasty habit of obsoleting their existing user base, but interestingly the latest versions Linux of runs perfectly well on old Macs.

Anyways you got me thinking, Ill probably install Linux on my Mac too.

For those who -- for whatever reason -- aren't comfortable switching from Windows to Linux and are basically going to allow themselves to be shoveled onto Windows 11, here's something that might mitigate the suck at least somewhat:
