You might find it helpful to know stats like this... (And I have heard 2 different stories) The windfarms in California (of which there are thousands) only supply 4% of energy... another said 1% so somewhere between 1-4% of electricity is supplied by windfarms.
When you hear all the positives about "renewables" go to other sites and read the negatives to get a balanced view.
Of course we ALL want the planet saved.... Start recycling the plastic... make wooden beams, roads, whatever but get THAT abomination OUT of our supermarkets.
We are DROWNING under our own excesses.

As the batteries aren't the best yet (or weren't 10 years ago) I forewent a Tesla and installed the system on a couple of VW Beetles. Great for zipping round the local vicinity. Accelerates like a motherfucker.

Proof of what? There's as much proof there in favour of recycling solar panels as any of the misinformed chatter about them being a landfill problem. Nobody postrd any 'proof' to back up that argument they just stated an opinion which as you know is like an arsehole with everybody having one.

They also require the destruction of natural forests, kill wild life, have poor turn out and still require lots of fuel to be used thawing and cleaning.

Those batteries are an environmental nightmare too but the marketing scheme is so good people will fight for it......slave labor be damned.

Afghanistan, I recently found out, is natural resourced enriched like Western Australia. So I'm thinking the Chinese will most likely invade them next.
I was just reporting lithium is a new boon for us. They're mining WA for all its worth. Mining rips up virgin habitat and I'm dead against it. Yeah, it's where our money comes from so there lays the dilemma.

I own shares in Rio Tinto. I am not against the mining companies. The problem is that with too many people, and with mismanagement of our resources, the demand for more and more natural resources is too high. We should be focusing on lowering the demand.
And planting trees. We have been on the same page on that topic for a long time.
