Walking over the border is only one portal for immigrants, if Trump fences every square inch of the southern border it would probably slow it down a little bit...but there are other avenues such as flying in, going by boat over the ocean etc. coming in via Canada, a couple thousand miles of mostly wide open borders there.

It is possible Trump may do some good things inadvertently or after some celebrity polishes his rod for it, but his Cabinet is comically bad.

plethora is in my opinion probably an overstatement, just because Trump continually talks about emptied prisons and insane asylums being emptied into the USA doesn't make it true.

...more inflation & a lower standard of living, even for many who voted for them.
Trump's economic policies will result in a massive subsidy for the rich.
The working class of America will pay more everything because of the Trump tarrifs but this won't matter to the ultra rich such as Vivek or Elon since they're billionaires anyway.
I suspect this will result in increasing resentment among the have nots which will led to social unrest.
The medicine will be tough for them to swallow including many who voted for Trump as they see their entitlements rolled back to pay for the Trump tax cuts.
