Admin, if you truly live on the coast of Oregon, then I understand why you are such a cawk sucking fairy.

Let me explain.

I believe I posted about going on vacay to Gleneden Beach, Oregon some years ago because we had just bought a Fiat convertible, and wanted to zip down PCH 101 during the Summer. Now granted, the Oregon Coast is beautiful especially when one goes over the bridge that takes you into Astoria. Yes, that part and the part that takes you through Tillamook and up to Depoe Bay is grand. While staying at The Shalishan Lodge, we were able to sample the local cuisine and the beaches.

With that being said. Oregon has some of the most fucking retarded ass driver's known to man. Either the fuckers are going too slow or too fucking fast. Oregonian's are like the Vancouver, B.C. Asians when it comes to changing lanes. It seems as though they both close their eyes, move into the lane without looking and say,

"Gooood ruck!"

I was in a fast and light car. I had a mini-van with 3 kids in it try racing me through the forest roads of Cannon Beach. A Honda CRV of all things tried racing me through Depoe Bay. The driver's in Oregon are dangerous. No wonder admin is as insane as he is. Anyone having to deal with that amount of stupidity on a daily basis is bound to lose it at some point.

Right, Admin?

You bought a FIAT? Say no more, say no more! (No LOL, due to the salesman code)

BTW, I'm a hop and a skip south from Salishan. The Market Place there has a Food Truck with totally kill Fish And Chips. And Bay View Thai in DB is awesome, as is there neighbor, Whale Bites Cafe.

Next trip down, perhaps you might consider a refresher drivers education course. And keep in mind driving in tourist towns you will encounter from out of town, and out of state tourists looking for that one place, crowding the 101, it's part of resort life and why locals stay home on sunny summer weekends.

Yes. We bought a Fiat. We had finally traded in our 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder with only 48k miles on it. So we got a fantastic deal on our Fiat Arbath Spider.

We went to the market and the food truck at that particular time was a chicken food truck. Serving tenders and a scrumptious chicken sandwich. I think it was the BeachCrest Brewery where we got pizza. We ate several times at The Hook and Slice. There was a really nice restaurant across the highway from the Shalishan Lodge in that business "mall" area, where they have the food truck and the Farmers Market. They were pretty good too. I noticed Oregon has a lot of Circle K's. In Lincoln City did you know I found an automated car wash? Yeah, it was near the Burger King. And naturally we went to Game Over Arcade in Lincoln City. And naturally I spent $500 there in 2 hours.

-$400 to refill my game card to try to win a $299 PS5.
-$25.00 on bar food
-$75.00 on alcohol.

So I'm not allowed to go back there anymore, next time we're in the area. One surprising thing is that you guys have Dutch Brother's Coffee. We do too. That's where I usually get my morning caffeine. So, when we were in Lincoln City we went to a Dutch Brother's. Normally I order a Large Italian Soda, Bubble Gum flavor and it's $7.25 in Washington State. Being in the Summer and it's a tourist town, I expected my Italian soda to cost the same as in Washington, it wasn't. It came out to $2.80?

WTF?

I'm used to just handing over a 10 dollar bill and leaving, I got confused for a moment and asked if that was the correct price. The Barista assured me it was the correct price and it was not Happy Hour, so I just gave him the 10 anyways.

I really wished I'd have known about how awesome Depoe Bay is, the whole "town" sits on a cliff overlooking the water. If you're driving, you'll miss Depoe Bay if you blink. I like how you can just park and walk over and look at the ocean. It's really beautiful there. We also took a whale watching excursion from there, and no I did not see Lily.

I hate to break it to you but all the maniacs had Oregon plates and it rings true up here in Washington as well, people with Oregon plates up here drive like fucking shit too. And, it's not like California drivers where they're speeding because they're being chased by immigration or a police chopper. Oregon drivers get mad when they can't hold you and 19 other cars up in the fast lane as they're going 15 miles under the speed limit.

P.S.-Gleneden Beach is pretty fantastic too. We went driving around there. If you're south of Gleneden Beach then are you before or after that grocery store after you go South from The Shalishan Lodge? The one on the left as you are going South.

Next time your down we have a couple local roaster that are pretty good, Left Coast is probably the best, Pirate Coffee seems to be popular too and it's right near the Pirate Cove viewpoint* where you stand on a flatish basalt cliff about 40 feet above the ocean where you might glimpse a whale or a seal lion or two, and its on the street to go I almost never go out for coffee....maybe once a year i'll get a Mocha to sip on.

That's looking direct into the bay, rotate your head 45 degrees and there is the Pacific.

That's the problem in those coastal towns, whereas we have coffee stands and Teriyaki on ever single block in Washington, it's a pain in the ass going anywhere in Gleneden Beach because nothing is close. At the Lodge, I had to drive to the hotel lobby to get coffee, thank God they had some artisan coffee they normally brew. If I wanted gourmet coffee I have to drive 10 minutes North or South. Bummer! But, that what vacations are for I guess. Plus, no kids as they were all at their respective Summer Camps! Even better!

That's a beautiful view, and its not like that's an inlet or a bay, that's the fucking Pacific Ocean. I live near Seattle, so we have fake beaches, because if you've ever been to Ocean Shores and their beach, that what the ocean really looks like. I still marvel about how blue the water is on the Oregon Coast. Lucky you.

I'm thinking of taking a little detour to Depoe Bay this Summer on my way to play in the WSOP 2025. Who knows, we may see one another at a coffee place.

I also saw a little nifty neighborhood on the Eastside of the Shalishan Lodge, but this community had a lake that the road went around. Does that sound familiar?

I know, right? Here's a near-elderly retired gentleman hanging out with homeless hobos beach combing for bottles to turn in for the deposit.

I think there's drugs involved.

That's not the "weird" part.

The "weird" part is:

WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE WHO HE FUCKS AROUND WITH? WHAT DOES THAT GOTTA DO WITH YOU AND WHAT YOU'RE DOING?!

Retard.

My dad had lot in Open Sores for several years before the slow redevelopment started encroaching on his lot, I think one street back from the jetty, it was very cool because it had the planned developments roads already in place but no houses just thru area, he’d haul his trailer over friends and family would gather around

Cranky basturd repeating the same old shit he has for 20 years. He should go suck the exhaust pipe of his car in his garage

I’ll always have a soft spot for Gurk cause we survived Valhalla and all that.

I can appreciate him despite his political affiliations. But I make these exceptions for all non-violent racist whites the same way I do for other races who do the same but are happy that I’m not judging them based on that solely alone.

But you do you, boo boo….

Well, I wasn't able to stay at TV and you know the story behind that. Therefore, no soft spots for grumpy gramps. I can only read the same old shit so much before I lose respect for a poster.

He has every right to believe and post what he wants. I don't owe him any respect for it.

Omg I love Dutch Bros!!!

We have those in the PNW… some are popping up in SoCal too.

I prefer the Italian cream soda on ice with lavender.

Omg my favorite coffee of all time was 7-11 cinnamon blend

That was before Seattle tho. They are the coffee snobs of the planet. Ethically sourced. Turkish coffee there was to die for and served with the soda water sidecar.

To die for!

I’ve seen it, but can’t place if I’ve had it…

Maybe at a function.

Peet's used to roast the beans for Starbucks, until Starbucks decided to do their own thing.

I got a Starbucks gift card during the holidays and had used in to order some pistachio something or other coffee. That was actually good

Starbucks was yuuge in the PNW, it wasn’t too much of an exaggeration to say there were Starbucks on every corner in Seattle, Portland etc.

By the time I was there… fuck Starbucks stickers were on every tagger hit up in the city.

But when you’re coming from 70 and sunny and the sun goes down for 6+ months… the firm coffee gets strong and they stacked Starbucks dark blend. I became a daily coffee drinker then and there.

But now I prefer an Americano… 2 splendid and half and half.
