The hair looks good. I've considered going lighter myself for the same reasons. My hair is very dark so every grey or white hair is so easy to see. Right now I'm coloring my roots once a month. My hair is very thick and long. It's exhausting. The upkeep and expense of just my hair is ridiculous.

But I'm just not emotionally ready for some drastic change either.

I'm not gonna lie, I used to shop at Walmart and Target because they were at least $2 cheaper than everywhere else, now they're about the same price as when I go to the mall or shop online.

I get WHITE hairs. Out of nowhere, I'll be washing my face and brushing my teeth and notice a whole patch of white fucking hair that seems to just show up over night. If I can't dye it immediately, I'll wear a head wrap. Thankfully I have a lifestyle and a job that let's me get away with that. I don't need to have my hair styled. Just clean and secured, out of the way.

The price of just decent hair care products is insane to me. I'll switch it up every few months and use some rice water shampoo bars but what i spend on just shampoo and conditioner alone makes me sick. I can get away with the cheaper, drug store stuff for one or two washes, but anymore than that and my hair is going dry right up, start breaking off, and my scalp is going to itch and sting. It's awful on my hair. It feels like I washed in laundry detergent. I swear not only did the prices go up, but the quality declined.

I have to use a good scalp oil after every wash. A hair mask twice a month. Leave in conditioner. I take collagen and colostrum with my vitamins everyday. It gets trimmed every 8 weeks or so...and I sleep in a bonnet. I just bought this shine treatment spray I haven't tried yet. I have to a use a good heat protector serum when I iron it. If all that wasn't enough, I also have "hair perfume" that I spray into my hair brush and brush through my hair (that's not really a need. I just do that for my own personal happiness) If I actually added up what I spend on hair, I'm sure I'd puke. All of the products I use i have to order. I did see the Olaplex bonding oil I use at Kroger....and it was a few bucks more at Kroger than it is when you order it from the website or get it from Ulta, so I left it. I spend enough. If I can save a buck or two, I will.

When i go into explaining my hair care, I sound like Patrick Bateman in the first scene of American Psycho describing his morning routine. So maybe it's time I do something more practical. The energy and the money i would save would be nice. I honestly look forward to when I can just let it be gray. I'll have long gray hair I keep in a granny bun. Like the cartoon grandma who had Tweety Bird.

How long are you stuck in that cast? 6 to 8 weeks? Which bone broke? I'm assuming it's the fibula?

I am way too afraid of heights to ski. Just seeing people on the lifts makes me feel weak in the knees and lightheaded. I envy those who enjoy it. My dad used to try to get me to go skiing with him all the time, and now that he is gone I do regret never going and at least trying. I was such a cry baby bitch about it. Honestly I'd have probably pissed myself and fell over if I ever managed to not only get up there, but actually start sliding down. Id have totally embarrassed him lol.
