I never participated in a Discord, because I have what each poster looks and sounds like in my head. When I happen to hear their real voice, most of the time it's a let down.
Hanging out with people off the forums isn't the worst thing, but one really does has to ask themselves, why the need for the stimulation from a forum? What is lacking in that person's real life that they need to seek some sort of validation from complete strangers online?
