On those occasions I grab a six-pack it's usually an impulse buy while I'm at Kroger for other stuff. For the longest I favored either Killian's Irish Red or Moosehead but they've stopped carrying both so now I get Yuengling and that's fine with me; it's actually pretty good.

The last time I bought alcohol in bulk was 2005. My dad had died unexpectedly in a hotel room in WA state. My mother was all over the funeral arrangements but didn't consider the wake.

I filled up 3x shopping trolling with vodka, whiskey, wine, and beer...a lot of beer... and started the party up where we all slung the nastiest insults at my dad... then cried.

..because we missed him.
