it's really a fact of war at this point. The B-2's are there now (they were dispatched this morning). 12 of them. Each carries a 3200 ordinance aka "bunker buster". They will destroy the entire mountain along with the reactor.

The mullahs are done. The people will need to decide who will lead them, and someone's going to have to have feet on the ground to control things in the vacuum.

We're great at war that results in regime change...not so good at building a democratic government in its place.

But I'm glad they're doing it this way instead of a nuclear option.

You can't imply that it's any of our fucking business what other people do with their own country and then act shocked when you get called an empire simp.

That does not compute.

When I pay Israel my tax dollars every year (without complaint or restraint) you better believe it's "any of our fucking business"

Your "tax dollars" don't pay for shit.
Never have, never will.

The government (operating in a fiat monetary system) isn't a fucking business that has to "show a profit". Congress creates money via appropriations; taxes (which exist to ensure a steady demand for dollars to pay taxes) effectively close the loop and delete money from the system.

Maybe Israel is pushing the United States & their friend Trump to start a war because it is losing its hegemony.

so perhaps this is a now or never proposition.

Israel thinks if they don't get the ugly/dirty/mess stuff over with now, this might be their last chance.

any thoughts on this @Garraty_47 ?

It's up to the people of Iran what comes after the Mullahs fall. We aren't in the nation-building business anymore. There has been undercurrents of "unrest" in Iran for a very long time. I hope this current situation tips the Jihadis over AND eliminates the possibility that Iran does have a nuke.

If "Israel" could do it on their own they would have done it a long time ago. How many hours after they lit the match did they start bawling for big brother 'Murica to pull their asses out of the fire they started? Not many.

Invading/destroying Iran has been on 'Murica's wish list for decades.

"Israel" is just a proxy and an excuse.

Trouble in Trumpville?

BREAKING: Hardcore MAGA Congressman Tim Burchett breaks ranks from his own party and slams them as "war pimps" for trying to start a war with Iran, adding that we "don't need another endless war in the Middle East."

When this maniac is the voice of reason, you know things are getting bad...

"How involved would you like to see the U.S. here?” CNN Anchor John Berman asked Burchett.

Donald Trump has been flirting with the possibility of striking Iran based on the incredibly flimsy allegation that they are close to possessing a nuclear weapon. It's the same lie that Republicans told with Iraq and somehow MAGA supporters are falling for it.

"Very little. We give Israel about $4 billion a year and other military assets. I think we should allow them to fight this thing," said Burchett. "I fear basically a three-front war. You know, we're involved with Ukraine, and then we pull out from around Taiwan, and that exposes them to China. That's something that China would love to see."

"And we don't need another endless war in the Middle East," he continued. "I think Israel has the capabilities, they've shown they have the technology, and the intelligence. You know, taking out three of their top people is a good thing and of course those ayatollahs are gonna say that they're hiding out in some cave somewhere and they're gonna, you know... Old men make decisions and young men die and that's the history of war."

"I would warn folks, though, that we need to vote about what we need to do about what's right and not what our stock portfolios say," said Burchett. "Because a lot of these military assets are a lot of people vote for these things because they have jobs in their districts, and that's just the cold, hard facts of warfare.”

"So you say you would like to see very little U.S. involvement," replied Berman said. "There are Republicans, Lindsey Graham and others, who say that Iran's nuclear capabilities are a threat to the United States, not just Israel, but to the U.S., and that the U.S. is the only country with the capability to take out the nuclear enrichment facility in Fordo. What do you say to that?"

"[Iran] can't get past Greece with their missiles. I think if they had, they would have already launched them. That's pretty evident," said Burchett.

"In their last missile strike I think they put two of their major missiles in the air," he went on. "That tells me they're just about out. And your previous expert talked about their apparatus was inoperable. That means that the Israelis blew the hell out of it on the ground. Again, I think that we need to take a deep breath and slow down this thing and let the Israelis do their thing."

"And ultimately that's what's going to bring them to the negotiating table," Burchett continued. "Like I said, we do not need another endless war."

"The weapons of mass destruction... I'm pretty confident that Iran has those capabilities of nuclear war," he said, providing no evidence for his dubious assumption. "But they can't get to us and I think the Israelis are doing a great job right now of eliminating any threat and I think that we should allow them to do that."

"There is a bit of a divide in your own party on this. It seems like you're saying you don't want U.S. military involvement here, you're agreeing on that," said Berman. "And we saw this new video. Tucker Carlson, who is someone who in the past has been very supportive of the president, had an interview with Senator Ted Cruz from Texas."

CNN then ran the now-infamous clip of Carlson humiliating Cruz by exposing his jaw-dropping ignorance on Iran, a country whose regime Cruz wants to topple. The senator didn't even know the country's population.

"Congressman, where do you come down on this?” asked Berman. "And Tucker Carlson has called some members of your own party warmongers."

“Yeah, well, I call them war pimps," said Burchett. "You know, Lindsey Graham's a friend of mine. Ted Cruz is a friend of mine. I just... Look, I got a daughter who just turned eighteen last week on the same day as the president did, and the United States Army. I don't want to see her go to war."

"My daddy fought in the Second World War. Hell, my mama flew an airplane during the Second World War. She lost her brother. Till the day she died, every time they unfurled that flag she would tear up," said Burchett. "And that was for a just cause."

"I just don't see American boys and girls going to a faraway land that many of us can't even find on a map. Again, it's Israeli, the Israelis can handle this thing. Let's let them handle it. We do not need a three front war in our lifetime right now," added Burchett.

Don't hate them for being in the winning position...

i.e. If it was not the USA military, it would be someone else....possibly someone much worse.

Israel pushed the US into starting the Iraq War but all it ended up doing was making Iran more powerful.

Israel thought Saddam was such a grave threat to them, which was not the case.

But through their prodding and meddling they created an even bigger threat by making Iran more powerful.

Sure, W Bush/Cheney were largely to blame for the Iraq War, but I wouldn't let Israel off the hook either.

So a lot of this having to go after Iran was Israel's fault.

I dislike how Israel gets this special hands off treatment like they're always under the radar.

But they create a lot of military conflict in the Middle East.

Everbody else in the world seems to Hate Israel except their monied supporters in the US.

It's because they love war and killing people even tho they claim that Trump is 'an anti-war President'.

I’m of the opinion that the Republitards will use our military and vast resources to secure the last remaining resources on this planet… like oil for gas.

Hence the entire Bush administration.

The mantras of the (Neo)Con class are always the same.

Like "Wars are Great. As long as somebody else dies...and it isn't ME."

They love recessions and economic pain too!

"Recessions are good for economy . ..as long as someone else loses their job or house & it isn't ME!"

But is it our duty as citizens aka the working class of America to think?

Why does it cost so much to live? To eat food that makes us sick and work a job that makes us miserable… for what?

To pay for medication that masks the problems they create?

Itd make me feel guilty if I invested in defense stocks knowing that they fund companies whose weapons needlessly kill innocent people. I feel so lucky to live in a part of the world that is comfortable and safe while so many elsewhere have so little & suffer so much . So I don't want to contribute to their pain or feel that I'm aiding or abetting those responsible for it.

We need defense. They call me a lefty, but I realize my grandparents fled Europe to escape fascism.

I’m pro military. I’m a moderate who has warned against this since forever.

But as a lefty you support heavy taxation, curtailed liberty, socialized everything, and retarded regulations.

Your grandparents may have fled fascism but what they helped create is even worse and California is just one prime example of the mindset more recent immigrants and all the dirty illegals have created. They all flee and then turn their new homes into shitholes.

...and don't pretend Trump, during his first term, didn't drone assassinate a top (and very popular) Iranian general just for the provocation of it. Why Trump thinks Iran should listen to anything he says now would be a fucking mystery except he doesn't actually care about that. Attacking Iran was the plan all along and Trump's alleged "diplomacy" is only propaganda to put a transparent veneer of justification over yet another 'Murican act of aggression in the middle east.

The "no new wars" president (LoL at everybody who fell for that one) is now openly just another war criminal psychopath like the rest of 'em.
