Post pics, stories or whatever from what you did in the great outdoors.

It was a beautiful fall day here so I rode the quad into a remote lake and I had the entire place to myself.:rightON:

Only caught one 16 inch rainbow but it was still a good afternoon. If anyone is wondering why the rifle it's because this is grizzly country and no bear is going to turn me into bear poop.

Smoking is good. Our Trout are small here in CT by your standards, 12 inches on average. I toss them back. But we can saltwater fish or go bassing, so it evens out.

Nice thread, I love the outdoors.

Hiked up to Roaring Run over the weekend, a 75' waterfall.

Can you fish that creek?

Sure can, BUT, there are restrictions. Since its in the National Forest, and I believe it is Native Trout in the stream, you have to Fly Fish, with artificial bait, and you have to Catch and Release. For the Native Trout anyway.

Always play dead if a bear attacks. I had to do it one time when on a trail in Alaska with my uncles and cousins (was 23 at the time). Terrifying, but it wasn’t a particularly big bear and thankfully was old.

We have black bears here, no attacks.

I was backpacking once on a mountain, in a 1 man tent, and had a black bear run down on me early in the morning while I was still in it. I musta looked like a snack from on top of the mountain lol. Fucker swiped at my tent twice, and I yelled loudly and ran it off. Only had my .32 on me. After that, I got a 2 man tent, and a .44 lol.
