I know your question wasn't directed at me, or perhaps anyone in particular, but as a retired fake doctor with a fair amount of experience dealing with the psychology of the general public as well as having a useless college minor degree in psychology from over 40 years ago, I'll go out on a limb and say that the answer to your question isn't quite so simple, as the one person with all the buttons probably doesn't even know.
At this time, it's probably safe to assume the bans are considered permanent, but emotions can run high, and over time there might be a feeling of, well if not "regret", at least enough of a vague sort of uneasiness that such a drastic action may have been unnecessary, and one or more accounts will be returned to normal status.
At least that's my take on it which isn't actually worth the time you spent reading it.
