I'm sayin'! I know the jobs market sucks right now. I have friends who've been out of work for 7 months and can't find shit. Not sure how much AI might have to do with it, but it might be a factor depending on the skill sets.

I'm glad I'm lucky enough to be able ease back and not have to stress it since I have enough to see me through to my end.

I think rather than 'soak the rich' an alternate way to restructure the system is to incentivize tax breaks.

So if a wealthy individual or company actually creates jobs invests in improving the local communities they get tax breaks.

And this could extend to middle income earners as well. If they contribute their money to badly needed infrastructure upgrades, theyd also get tax breaks. in addition they would get more tax free contribution room in their retirement accounts.

I support tax breaks but the local community & the workforce have to get something back in return.

Clearly the current setup in the US isn't working and even Conservatives have remarked that its creating a K Shaped economy.

I plan to retire from my job in a couple of months after which I'll be 'officially retired' according to the Government's definition of it. Then I'll be getting a full pension. But until it arrives I'm still in the workforce Reggie.

I'll retire but I still plan to do something part time even do a side hustle business. That's why I was asking if yer still working because I still plan to after officially retiring

I've got some retirement savings but watching others who've retired, their savings usually don't last unless a person works part time eh.

I got one friend who had a government job and job now he gets a generous pension with enhanced medical benefits in addition to the government one. So he must get at least $4000 a month clear. I confess I'm not in that position so I'll likely have work pT to hang onto my retirement savings.

However I'm not complaining cuz many family members had to work hard ft right into their mid 70s. So compared to them I'm on easy street.

I feel grateful because many people I know will never get to retire or take a break & will probably work to the end of their lives when they're in their 70s or 80s
