So when I woke up on Friday, there was an email from my wife....let me find it....
It was titled
and said "do you have Magna stock?"
"up 17% today.
price now is higher than analysts predict
maybe sell?"
I checked and I had 2000 shares of Magna (MG.TO) and decided to sell 1000.
So my friend who I went to The Offspring concert with last night works at Magna. He is an executive and participates in an employee share ownership plan.
When we were shooting the shit before the show, I asked him "So what is up with Magna? The stock shot up yesterday. " He was unaware. We talked and apparently there was some chatter about good performance on some company chat or something. I asked because I saw no News release that would justify the bump (which is typical of many rises and dips).
Anyways, it is interesting that even employees with a significant investment in a company can be unaware of such a big jump in their stock price.
