What is a mock nobody?

@Flynn

Thank you. Perfection.
No notes, no corrections, just... <chef's kiss>

The rabble would do well to emulate your poast.
If BF had a Hall of Flame your poast would be framed and hung in the foyer so it's the first thing visitors see.

*sigh*

I don't even have the vocabulary to describe how much I've missed that sort of content.

I can't even bring myself to potentially sully it by attempting a rejoinder.

The day is yours; I humbly withdraw.

<hands my crown to Flynn>
This is, I believe, yours now.
But if you don't mind just a *little* bit of advice:

Take it off before you eat any more corndogs.
That's not... a regal look.

<bows out>

I don't think there are any clear winners or losers here. I wasn't looking to beat you or make you submit, I actually agree with you. I give back the energy that is given like a strong flashlight beam in the dark night.

On one hand I don't mind indulging in debates and essays, but I totally draw the line when it comes to posters that can't even describe a feeling without going down a dark and musty hole of self loathing or lashing out at others. The kinds of posters like Admin. and Jack make having a relatively normal interaction on here "No Joy." If you were in the Military especially the Air Force or Navy; you would know what that means.

As I've stated many times before, the forums are never dependent on one single poster, but the whole group. A forum is only as talented as its weakest link. It takes a village to make a forum nice and cozy. Even morons like UncleDiLF, and Alfred E. Neutrump have their place here.

As one of the more profilic posters here, I come to expect quality posts from you, along with an unusual keen insight into things. You are one of the few-that I will stop what I'm doing and read your post directed at me whether positive or negative. Not too many humans are afforded that grace and luxury.

We can only hope that you and Fred will continue to lead by example so that others may hopefully someday follow.

@Flynn

It was a fun back-n-forth and your poast really was the cherry on top.

I'm sure you're familiar with the phrase: "Know when to fold 'em".

Ending an exchange on a high note is, in my opinion, more important than any nebulous 'win' could ever be. It serves nobody to drag these things out well past their Best-By dates.

Rest assured I'll be getting some back; but like any good sniper it'll be at a time when you won't see the first shot coming.

And I not only agree with your assessment of how forums operate, I've said it many times myself. No amount of promotion, rules, policies, or other structural framing can pull creativity or enthusiasm out of thin air. A forum is good or bad as the poasters in it. Period. It can not be otherwise. This is true regardless of labels, guidelines, guardrails or any other attempts to herd a membership in a specific direction.

A membership can be more than the sum of its constituent parts but that can't be conjured into existence by the management class; it's either an emergent property of the members' interactions with each other or it's not.

A preponderance of slop like "that's ghey" passed off as entertainment will never be the cornerstone of what I would consider to be a successful forum. Literally the only thing it contributes to is postcount while dragging the aggregate enjoyment factors down in every other category.

Forums as they used to be didn't die; they were smothered under the weight of too many low-effort high-drag imbeciles inundating the boards with vapid spew.

Maybe that's just the trajectory for these kinds of spaces and I'm rowing against a current that's implacable in its determination to bring everything down to the level of an inebriated lobotomy recipient grunting unintelligibly via his keyboard at anyone who can be bothered to look.

But it'll never be said that I simply *let* it happen.

<spit>

I dunno if I'd call that ghey.

Honesty is rare around these parts, and if it's a troll it's a well run one.

X, who told you it was wrong to have feelings?
I’m the moast feeling’est guy around, I push them deep in my gut like a real man and cry to my psychiatrist…

So, what's this "tagline" thingie Garraty and Flynn keep yammering about?
Since they're being pedantic bitches about it, it's the subheading for meltdown, in this case that REEK shat out as some sort of ridiculous response to some imaginary thing she thinks I posted.

To wit:

MELTDOWN

"most despicable of fighting methods should be employed to ensure absolute victory." is the "tagline"

Who reads that shit? I never actually "go into" the subforums. That would be stupid and an unnecessary number of clicks. I navigate exclusively by the "what's new" and "latest activity" buttons to optimize my message board experience.

If you would have read part of the thread you would have figured out that Fred was posting about Seamajor.

Leave it to @jack to start lying about this, along with trying to add himself into the mix as he tries to be relevant.

I skimmed some of it hoping for a zinger flame here and there, but I was disappointed. You and Garraty were just chatting like two old women gossiping across the fence. Boring as fuck. Step it up! This is Meltdown.

I'm exhausted just thinking about all the clicking you do.

My BF shortcut takes me straight to Meltdown, the only sub in which I'm interested. No buttons, no lists, just *zap* and I'm there. Efficiency squared.

Have fun wearing out your mouse in the name of 'exclusive navigation', though.

Silly people doing silly things... it's BF in a nutshell innit.

Maybe it’s time to acknowledge those zingers aimed at you Reggie

If you ever pull one off, I'll alert the media.

Its always the ones brimming with hatred for their fellow posters that go all innocent and "who me" when they get it back.

Typical "dish it out but can't take it" bs.
WTF you talking about WillisJack? The only hatred being hurled around here comes from your side of things. I'm always kind and respectful toward you shitbags.
