I had this Latino friend who had a pretty distinctive Mexican accent. I said something to him in Spanish once, and he said, "What? I don't understand Spanish." His parents were Mexican. Is it common for someone who doesn't speak Spanish to have an accent like that? It made me LMAO.

They speak spanish fluently tho.....

I know maybe two people who have a faint accent and don’t speak the language. Other than that, no. I’d have to say it’s not common.
