The only major city which did anything was San Diego but now the Dems control everything so they immediately went about replicating the massive failures found in L.A. and San Francisco. Luckily, there hold on San Diego is razor thin and they know they still have to fear the conservatives and moderates. The stores themselves explicitly say it is because of shoplifting. Here in California the democrats have decriminalized all shoplifting under $950 per incident per person. They now have organized gangs of like 20 showing up with trash bags, stuffing them until they are full, then all 20 walk out. Legally store security cannot stop them as they will get charged with a crime.

The gangs are mostly made up of homeless street junkies who do the actual thefts. Gangs "tax them" and tell them they have to "work" for the gangs by stealing stuff from stores. The gang members then give the street junkies a small amount of drug in exchange for the stolen items. The gangs then sell the items either online or at second hand places or swap meets. It is big business.

That is terrible about $950 per incident. How did they get away with that? I made my comment because people would have lost their jobs through lockdowns so petty theft surely was on the increase.
