The taxis dropped the gas guzzling chevys a long time ago quite obviously because they used less gas which in turn cost less to operate which translated into larger profits for them.

Incidentally, I drove diesel vehicles a lot as a limo driver. While the fuel efficiency was good, I noticed as they aged that they began to smell. The local transportation companies dropped them because of their emissions were too high and after a while & they let off an unpleasant odor. A lot of companies unloaded them after a while and they could be had for cheap.

Diesel vehicles are not the end all be all solution that people think. They're quirky too.

I think the kind of chemicals they spew into the air are more harmful than gasoline.
