I've got a friend who's moving there next year, he works for a multinational that has offices in Portugal and he was lucky enough to find a job with them.

But the US is still the most favored destination. I've been seeing so many ads for visas these days, it's not a surprise. And many of them are human trafficking groups which use the visa trap to attract people without having problems with the law.

But in most cases, they'll tell you you have no chance of getting a visa and try to convince you to sell everything you have to go to the US

20k dollars is the minimum these days.

Why would inferior third worlders want to come to such a hateful and racist nation as the USA? We were founded on slavery and the exploitation of brown people by White Supremacists, after all. Just ask any Prog like Lotus or Admin.

Are you descended from Slave owners, Reggie/Rennel?

You seem like the type.

No. No one in my family ever needed to purchase farm implements in our history in this great free land.

I guess it's much harder for a Brazilian than a Canadian to get into the US, eh?

Personally I'd rather spend my tourist dollars in Brazil or Portugal.

They're even making it more difficult for us.

Only reason a Canadian goes to the States is for business, shopping at Macy's or to buy cheaper gas, cigarettes or a bottle of milk.

But I'd rather go somewhere else these days. Other than a few gems like Hawaii, there's not much else to see in the US. If we're gonna spend 30% more with a higher US dollar better be woth it eh.
Uh, yeah Joe. People living in a violent, corrupt 3rd world shithole might want to move to a better country, who knew?!

It's a dream for many here.

The dollar is pushing 5,50 here. Someone who has 1k dollars to spend monthly could live a decent life here.

I've heard of people who are working hard in the US and they're buying an apartment here every 6 months by saving every single penny they can.

Not wanting to add to your worries, but there's also something else

The profile of immigrants that you guys will be receiving will change drastically.

When I lived in the US, most latinos I met there were usually decent, hardworking people who wanted to make enough to have a stable life back in their countries and go back.

Nowadays, with the severe changes in how people perceive the US, you'll be getting a whole new type of immigrants from what I've been seeing.

Many young progs who love news of drugs being legalized in Oregon. Videos of people robbing stores "legally" are also common here.

Also, criminals used to flee to places like Paraguay before. Now, they're going to the US

The US used to considered a place where law and order were the rule. Now, you guys are a mecca for the most useless types we have here.

Yeah I think I'll do that too when I retire.

But I'm looking elsewhere like Ecuador, Uruguay or Panama for retirement living. A Canadian pension can go far in those places.

Seems like there's too many people in Brazil which inevitably results in more problems, crime etc.

If I were to pick a place to move today, I'd go check for statistics on the safest cities here

Nowadays, they are usually small cities surrounded by farms and law enforcement operates on a different style there

The secret is always keeping the idle ones at a minimum.

Well Ecuador seems like it had a low COVID rate compared with many other Latin American countries.

I hear many British are fleeing the UK just to escape COVID & the Pandemic for Ecuador.

Ecuador is looking good these days with a conservative president. And their left isn't composed entirely by corrupt imbeciles, so they don't suffer much when they get elected.

I knew many Ecuadorians in the US, some worked with me. They always struck me as hardworking, down to earth people with a strong sense of family and morals.

They do better than their neighbors like Peru, Colombia and Bolivia because they aren't plagued by the cocaine hell. Their country is also a rich land, they have coastal areas, plains, mountains and forest, so they have many types of resources there.

Bolsonaro rocks though...
Too bad he's having it worse than Trump here

At least in the US Trump had the senate and the supreme court didn't interfere much

Over here, the constant people's support is what's still keeping Bolsonaro at the presidency.

But the hinder, sabotage and lie so much, he didn't manage to make any significant changes to the country

And Lula, the thief who stole hundreds of billions might come back next year. If that happens, Brazoo is gone for good. We will become just like Venezoohell.

cmon, im pretty sure she made a thread announcing this so she can draw racial attacks lol

Actually, I made the thread because I was so tickled by my daughter's comment.

I need to work now on encouraging her to spend enough time here to find someone! And introducing her to as many young men as possible when she does come next.

^ loathesome

Wow. Sorry you're such a sour bitch.

Why are they buying apartments if it's such a horrible place to live, though?

@Jeannie

Jeannie has been giving me guff for giving Dove a hard time for the thread where she posted pornographic pics. She thinks it's not a good look to go after Dove over the situation with her daughter. As in "why are you being bullies about her and her kids".

Well...though your daughter is an adult, she still your kid and she's dragging you in this thread.

Not a good look. And your thread is innocent.

For Brazilians, leaving their families behind is hard and most never really adapt to the American lifestyle, especially those who go after they have wives and children. Sometimes even when they manage to get their whole household there, they come back because of the extend family.

Also, it's harder to retire in the US. Apartments tend to be a good investment, easy to rent and their price always goes up these days.

You can live well renting 8 or 10. So that's what they do, they buy apartments, get someone from the family to collect rent and keep things in order, then they buy a house and a car for themselves, fill a ship container with all the stuff they will need and come back to enjoy life.

Leaving families behind is hard for everyone, isn't it? It's why I want my daughter to come and get married and have babies here. And my son, too.
